Traveling student film festival coming
Student Films Across America - a student-run, traveling film festival that features the best work of high school and college students from around the world - will be coming to the Michigan Theater June 20.
For now, though, the festival is accepting submissions. If you're a high school or college student filmmaker, check out www.sfaa07.com to learn more about how to submit your film.
In August, the festival will award $10,000 prizes to both the Best of Fest and Audience Choice films, with $2,000 also going to the festival's best comedy, best drama, best documentary, best high school film, and best college film. (There's also a $5,000 competition for the best original SFAA theme song.) The festival's panel of celebrity film judges include actor Michael Emerson ("Lost''), and screenwriter John August ("Big Fish,'' "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,'' "Charlie's Angels'').
